Brainspotting for women in Milwaukee, WI.
You’ve tried traditional talk therapy but only seen minimal change?
You’ve been bothered by past events for a long time and feel like you should be over it already. Self-help books haven’t helped and your circle tells you to move on. Coping strategies you’ve learned only help temporarily. Nothing has worked.
You’re tired, struggling and constantly question why things aren’t improving for you. If only you could move past things you would feel fine.
Access the part of your brain that reaches feelings for targeted therapy to help accelerate healing.
Set aside the things that you’ve tried so that you can get right down to business.
Together in session, we will use Brainspotting to help you access your own healing process, to rewire your brain connections, healing what once were emotional wounds that used to take over your mind.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a special type of therapy that helps the brain heal to allow for new ways of thinking, and a new way of showing up in the world. Bypassing the "thinking" part of our brain (prefrontal cortex), to access the midbrain, where emotions are processed and stored to allow for more effective and long-lasting healing.
Brainspotting taps into the body's natural ability to heal through specific eye positioning. It helps address trauma at its core but can also be effective for many other challenges. It's a powerful tool for doing deeper, transformative work.
Instead of lots of talking like in traditional therapy you use your eyes to help mindfully process. Your eyes are connected to the part of the brain that accesses feelings, which is connected to the body-based parts of the brain.
Using my pointer and bilateral music I will help you find a “brain spot”. Then you will begin to report the emotions or body sensations that come up when you think about what's bothering you. You’ll focus your eyes on that specific brain spot. This allows your brain and body to do whatever it wants or needs while focusing on the brain spot. All you must do is notice what's happening and you’ll begin to feel less activation, have more clarity, and finally start to feel better.

Brainspotting can often be more effective and lead to healing faster than traditional talk therapy. However, the time it takes for brainspotting to work varies for each person. There are many factors that influence the length of therapy, such as understanding the challenges you're facing, how they affect your life, and how past experiences may have contributed to these issues. Healing is a process, and just as you didn’t arrive at this point overnight, it will take time to work through it.
During sessions we will discuss your progress to make sure we’re on track to meet your therapeutic goals

Talk therapy mainly engages the outer part of the brain that deals with language. Brainspotting, however, reaches deeper areas where emotions are processed and stored, leading to more effective and lasting healing.
